Winning Balance by Shawn Johnson

This is an inspiring story about a pint-size American gymnast with a big smile and an even bigger heart. 'Winning Balance' is about a teenage girl named Shawn Johnson who has won many world titles in gymnastics, including a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The book is not only about her sport but also about her life. Although Shawn has a busy career she also likes to maintain a normal life outside of gymnastics. I recommend this book to the the people who like sports. I rate this book a 10/10. NBP

Farm Boy- Michael Morpurgo

This Michael Morpurgo's book is about a small boy, around fifteen, living on a farm with his grandpa. Although this would not appeal to most fifteen year old boys, he loves it as his grampa tells him stories about him and his family. He told him about him going to war with his favourite horse and adventures he had to overcome. I didn't really like this book as it was boring and there was only one good scene. I would recommend it to boy under ten years old as it was quite childish. I would rate this book 7/10, I would have only given it 5/10 if it wasn't for a good ending.

Uglies

"uglies" is an interesting story set in a future dystopian world. where being "pretty" is the number one priority. Although the story is science fiction the feeling and thoughts of the characters are relatable and understood. the plot is gripping and something is always happening. The setting of this story is also unique. I would give this story seven out of ten. it was terrible

Brian O Driscoll

This book begins with Brians early years, and tells the story of how he became a rugby legend. When he was in primary school he did not know what rugby was,and his hero at the time was Mark Hughes, the legendary footballer. He only learnt what rugby was when he went to secondary school in Blackrock College. Thats when he discovered his love of rugby. I would rate this book 9 out of 10.
